Trump promises thorough investigation into suspicious packages, United States News & Top Stories

Sources previously told CNN that investigators believed some of the packages might have originated in Florida and that investigators were there, chasing down leads. And authorities are really still investigating exactly what's inside of it and what we may learn, the motives here.

The packages discovered Thursday set off a new wave of alarm.

A bomb addressed to "Former First Lady Hillary Clinton in Westchester County" was found the next day during screening away from the Clinton home while the remaining packages were discovered on Wednesday.

In June, 75-year-old De Niro received a standing ovation at the Tony Awards in NY for using an expletive to condemn Trump.

After CNN rant its report about the pipe bomb being intercepted in the mail before it reached the White House. other news outlets and the Secret Service said the CNN report was not true.

A package addressed to Harris found Friday at a Sacramento mail facility was the 13th device officials said they had linked to Sayoc.

The package was removed from the building around 7 a.m. That package had an incorrect address, so it was redirected to Wasserman Schultz's office in Sunrise, Fla., and recovered there.

The packages stoked nationwide tensions and fears as voters prepared to vote November 6 to determine partisan control of Congress - a campaign both parties have described in near-apocalyptic terms. 'It has gotten so bad and hateful that it is beyond description. Trump has repeatedly criticized CNN as "fake news" and disparaged the mainstream news media as an "enemy of the people".

The suspicious package sent to Wasserman Schultz's Florida office was intended for former Attorney General Eric Holder but had the wrong address, two law enforcement sources said.

"Stop blaming others. Look in the mirror", Brennan tweeted.

In addition to the race hatred and lies he spreads on a regular basis, this week he encouraged direct violence against the media. CNN is known for its robust coverage of the Trump administration and for constantly provoking the ire of the president.

But Democratic Senate and House leaders Chuck Schumer of NY and Nancy Pelosi of California said such words "ring hollow" when coming from Mr Trump.

Ms Wasserman Shultz was the former chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, but resigned from her position after the release of DNC emails during the 2016 United States presidential election campaign. The devices, each with a small battery, were made from PVC pipe about six inches long and covered with black tape, said a law enforcement official who viewed X-ray images.

California lawmaker Maxine Waters was sent two suspicious packages.

David Chipman, a retired federal ATF agent and now senior policy adviser for the Giffords Center, said the details revealed telltale signs that could help guide investigators.

Injured When Party Lounge Collapsed In US University Clubhouse
Larissa Stone, a sophomore at Clemson University , said she arrived to the party about 20 minutes before the floor collapsed. Police said they received a 911 call at 12:30 a.m. about the cave-in and ambulances were quickly dispatched to the area.

The pipe bombs were packed with powder and shards of glass.

"This is someone sitting down and spending time thinking about what they're going to do to someone else".

"Those behind such reprehensible acts must be brought to justice", said GOP House Speaker Paul Ryan.

The package addressed to Brennan was sent care of CNN's NY bureau, prompting a chaotic morning of must-see TV live from the streets of Manhattan as police evacuated the Time Warner Center and cordoned off several city blocks in the downtown core.

The explosive package sent to Mrs Clinton's NY home was discovered at a mail sorting facility, and did not reach the Clintons' home. This was near the address of a restaurant owned by Robert De Niro.

The 75-year-old star used an expletive to condemn Trump at the televised Tony Awards last June, receiving a standing ovation.

"I'm not saying - and I don't believe - that the president is doing this on goal, but he is doing it for his own political imperatives, especially at a time of upcoming midterm elections", Bokhari said in an interview.

Earlier this year, Biden suggested he would have "beat the hell out of" Trump if they were in high school, over the president's unsavory comments about women.

"We should not mob people in public places or destroy public property", Trump said instead. "We've got to come together".

Gov. Andrew Cuomo's Manhattan office reported that a suspicious package had been delivered to them as well; however, the AP reports that a NYPD spokesman said it was not a bomb and was unrelated to other devices.

A law enforcement official said the devices were similar to one found Monday at the home of George Soros, the billionaire philanthropist and liberal donor.

But Trump skipped his usual attack on what he calls the "fake news" media for not showing enough of his crowds.

The U.S. Secret Service intercepted the bomb that was addressed to Hillary Clinton at the Chappaqua, New York, home she shares with former President Bill Clinton, and another that was sent to Obama at his home in Washington. His ended up at the Florida office of Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz's Florida office as the return address, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation - and the package intended for Holder wound up being rerouted there, where it was found Wednesday.

Mr Trump sought to blame the media for creating what he has said is a hostile environment at a midterm election campaign rally in Wisconsin on Wednesday night.

Trump says he's holding back his most fiery rhetoric because he's "trying to be nice".
