Liverpool star Mane undergoes hand surgery

It has been a troubled break for the Reds, with Mohamed Salah and Naby Keita also doubts for Saturday's Premier League clash with Huddersfield, while Virgil van Dijk has been playing despite a rib problem.

"Do we really want opera every night or every two months?"

"They defend in different systems, play football and so far they struggle scoring goals, but that's so far".

"The Nations League itself is a good idea - do it in another sport because in football there is no space for it".

"I may as well have said it to the coffee machine".

Liverpool said on Wednesday that forward Sadio Mane had undergone successful surgery on a hand injury he sustained while on worldwide duty with Senegal.

While Jurgen Klopp is expected to be able to call upon two of his most important players on the weekend, he is set to be without Keita for a short period.

"The only thing that is pretty sure is that Naby will not be available; with all the rest we have to see how it develops".

"I know Juergen long enough that I know he loves to use some smokescreens", Wagner, who coached the second team at Borussia Dortmund when Klopp was in charge of the senior side, told a news conference. That's it, pretty much'.

With the injury, Mane joins Mo Salah, Naby Keita and Virgil Van Dijk as Reds to be injured during the worldwide break.

He said: "One-and-a-half weeks ago everybody was quite happy or satisfied with the situation; one-and-a-half weeks later, we miss a few players".

"They had more possession against Tottenham, maybe people are not interested in that but it's a big step".
