Samsung launches world’s first four-camera smartphone

The Galaxy A9 is the latest mid-range smartphone to come from the Korean technology firm and it features the world's first quadruple camera system. We guessed it might be referring to a 4x rear camera array equipped device, and that is indeed what was revealed in Kuala Lumpur earlier today as the Samsung Galaxy A9 was launched.

The pioneering smartphone comes with a 24MP main lens, 2x optical zoom, Scene Optimizer and Depth Lens for the freedom to manually adjust depth of field.

The Galaxy A9 also features virtual assistant Bixby, Samsung Pay and Samsung Health. Customers can pick up the device in Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue, and Bubblegum Pink. It has quite a few features but here are some of the best Galaxy A9 (2018) features for which you may consider spending your money on this device. As of now, the pricing is unknown and considering that it has Snapdragon 660 SoC, i assume it could be priced a little above the Galaxy A7 when it launches in India next month.

The front selfie camera is a 24-megapixel sensor. Interestingly, The Google Pixel line, the newest Pixel 3, just announced a few days ago still retains a single camera on the rear, focus more of their efforts on software to achieve high-quality results. Of course, both of them only have two a piffling dual-lens camera on the back.

And that's the Galaxy A9.

Interpol chief Meng Hongwei under investigation, China says
Grace Meng told reporters that Meng messaged her an emoji of knife that day, which she interpreted as a warning he was in danger. Four minutes before he sent the knife emoticon image, he sent his wife a text message saying: "Wait for my call".

I'd love to be able to tell you just how those four lenses performed in the real world, but unfortunately we were only given access to pre-production hardware which was suffering from a few glitches that made the camera hard to really assess.

Samsung has also included support for Always-on Display on the A9 (2018).

The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) flaunts a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display on the front which carries a resolution of 1080×2220 pixels and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. With it enabled, a "Samsung Quad camera" watermark will be applied automatically to all photos captured using the device. And there's a headphone jack as well as a USB-C connection.

The A9 (2018) gets its juice from a sizeable 3800 mAh battery and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
