Apple seeds iOS 12.1 beta 3 to developers

The new software adds some new features to the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max while also bringing Group FaceTime to all iOS 12 compatible devices.

Apple first addressed the new iPhone's charging issues (Chargegate) in a beta release of iOS 12.1. After digging deeper, users also discovered that the iPhone XS sometimes joined Wi-Fi networks that were available in both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands in 2.4GHz even though the phones support 5GHz.

iOS 12.0.1 includes bug fixes and improvements for your iPhone and iPad. A bug was causing some of these models to hook up with a slower 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network instead of a faster 5GHz signal.

Most notably, iOS 12.0.1 patches an issue that was causing problems with iPhone charging via Lightning cable.

Masahiro Tanaka picked up the win as he allowed one earned run on three hits with four strikeouts and one walk over five innings. Except this wasn't a Game 7, a Game 5 or even a Game 2. "The fans, they're out there on the field with you", Judge said.

The early unofficial statistics show that Apple has managed to capture the attention of device owners as far as iOS 12 is concerned. Since a full restore fixed the LTE and Wi-Fi bugs, it seems plausible that iOS 12.0.1 does as well.

"For the iPad, the iOS 12.0.1 update fixes the position of the ".?123" key on the on-screen keyboard.

It's worth noting that most of these bugs have been fixed in beta versions of iOS 12.1, though Apple has chose to squash them with a public release instead of waiting for that OS update to drop.

Users can download the latest update by navigating to Settings General Software Update on their iPhone or iPad. But this prevented subtitles from working on some video apps, and also created an issue where Bluetooth might not work.
