US Open 5th seed Anderson subdues Shapovalov in five

The opening set was only the fourth time in 282 career Grand Slam matches that Nadal lost a set 6-0 and this was the first time he had been victorious after doing so.

After suffering a first set "bagel", Nadal had to battle back from breaks in the third and fourth sets before seeing off the first top 20 player he had faced at the US Open since 2013.

Nadal was on 55 winners and 49 unforced errors, winning six points less than his rival thanks to that awful first set but doing what he had to do in the end despite the fact he wasted five break points in the deciding set while Thiem had none.

"I suffered, that's the right word", said Nadal after playing his longest ever match at the tournament. It's been a great battle. A year ago he lost a very tough match against Del Potro here.

"I'm very happy to be through", added Nadal after setting up a rematch of June's French Open final, when he crushed Thiem in straight sets to win his 17th major.

But it was Nadal who set up a semi-final showdown Juan Martin del Potro, who beat John Isner earlier in the day, and he was apologetic after his win.

Where can I stream Rafael Nadal vs Dominic Thiem? . "So I didn't face one break point, and I didn't feel so much pressure on service games", said Thiem.

Georgia's most illustrious tennis player, Nikoloz Basilashvili, ended his run at the US Open yesterday with a hard fought loss to Rafael Nadal.

Mystery Woman in Shackles Seen Ringing Neighbors' Doorbells - Dark Truth Emerges
The footage shows the woman, wearing just a shirt and with a restraint on her right wrist, ringing a doorbell about 3:20 a.m. KSAT's sister station in Houston, KPRC-TV, reported that authorities believed the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.

Anderson admitted the better man beat him on the day‚ after having his serve broken three times in the match. "A bunch of times I thought I hit pretty decent returns but he really punishes anything he has time on‚ and even sometimes when he doesn't have time".

Nadal has lots of respect for Thiem, he is the only one who has managed to trouble the Spaniard on clay in the past two seasons.

Nadal was more generous in describing his matches against Thiem, the first of which came back in 2014.

His toiling was fruitful, however - this is the first year Nadal has made it to at least the last eight of every Grand Slam since 2011.

"I think that moment was the key of the match", Del Potro said in an on-court interview.

Nadal and Thiem have met ten times so far on Tour, and, remarkably, all have been contested on clay courts. A couple of loose points gifted Kanepi a break in the first game of the second set, however, and she couldn't get back on terms. "Let s keep going".

I'm able to compete with anyone out there, as I showed today. The third-seeded Argentine will next face John Isner, the last American man standing, who defeated Milos Raonic 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, taking his tournament aces total past the 100-mark.
