Russian ruble at lowest since 2016 on United States sanctions fears

The Trump administration added to its growing list of sanctions against Russia on Tuesday, blacklisting two companies and two individuals suspected of trying to circumvent earlier USA sanctions imposed in June in response to cyberattacks, and sanctioning two Russian shipping companies for suspected trade with North Korea.

TASS also reports that sanctions apply to six Russian vessels for violating USA sanctions regarding North Korea.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Treasury announced to sanction several Russia-related individuals and entities over their involvement in actions against the US sanctions. The new targets are two Russian shipping companies and six ships, and one of the ships is now at anchor in South Korea.

"We of course welcome statements that affirm a readiness to cooperate, but we would welcome even more some kind of concrete actions", Peskov said.

"Consequences for violating these sanctions will remain in place until we have achieved the final, fully verified denuclearization of North Korea".

USA and British officials have also accused Russian Federation of seeking to interfere with their elections. USA officials also slapped sanctions on two Russian individuals for helping Divetechnoservices circumvent US sanctions.

"We oppose the stubborn, blinkered and aggressive approach of the Americans to solve bilateral and worldwide problems with a calm, methodical work on a constructive agenda", he said. They thought Hunt might raise the issue when all 28 foreign ministers meet for talks in Austria at the end of the month. "Such information (proof) is lacking", he added.
