Peter Strzok firing reaction from praise to ire

The veteran agent played an important role as one of the lead investigators on Russian interference in the 2016 US election as well as a part of the probe into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server during her time as Secretary of State.

Texts between the two included their observations of the 2016 election and criticism of Trump. He said that Comey "ultimately...made the decision to change that wording" after a "legal discussion of the use of that term". "The list of bad players in the FBI & DOJ gets longer & longer", the president also wrote. "A lengthy investigation and multiple rounds of congressional testimony failed to produce a shred of evidence that Special Agent Strzok's personal views ever affected his work".

Strzok had become the poster child for the perceived anti-Trump "deep state" among his supporters after it was revealed he exchanged anti-Trump text messages with his co-worker girlfriend.

In another tweet, he called the inquiry into Hillary Clinton's email server, a "sham investigation", saying it "was a total fraud on the American public and should be properly redone!"

The FBI had been reviewing Strzok's employment over text messages he sent slamming President Trump and telling his bureau paramour "We'll stop" him from getting elected.

"It has been an honor to serve my country and work with the fine men and women of the FBI", Strzok wrote, including a link to a GoFundMe account meant to cover his legal costs and lost income.

Former agent Peter Strzok's lawyer said Monday that he had been fired from the agency over texts from that were critical of Trump. Trump is a huge fan of those agreements but legal experts say they are useless at controlling former White House aides.

Manchester United need a striker not a centre-half, says Paul Ince
It was Shaw, who just like Pogba has endured some tough times under Mourinho , who was the unlikely late hero for United . The offer of signing Jerome Boateng, the 29-year-old Bayern Munich defender, was the easiest to reject.

Strzok was also a lead investigator on the probe into Democrat Hillary Clinton's email sever in 2016.

Strzok was sacked Friday, his attorney confirmed.

The text messages between Page and Strzok, which have been released intermittently over the past year, include some that show their dismay at the firing of FBI Director James Comey and discussing the prospect of working for Mueller.

Meadows - who said in a statement that Strzok was sacked because "he was willing to use his official Federal Bureau of Investigation position to try and stop President Trump from getting elected" - added that "I hope this development will allow us to move forward in restoring the character of an agency where so many fearless men and women work tirelessly to keep America safe".

Strzok played an instrumental role in the investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email server and helped oversee the Russian Federation collusion investigation.

During a recent monologue, Todd Starnes was glad Strzok was finally fired, but wondered why it took so long to happen.
