'Castlevania' is coming to 'Super Smash Bros. Ultimate'

The latest Nintendo Direct has landed, delivering a whole boatload of new Smash Bros. Those lucky enough to play the Super Smash Bros. A couple other echo fighters were revealed as well.

Simon Belmont's signature weapon is, of course, his whip, with special attacks true to the Castlevania series, including the axe, cross, holy water and Grand Cross Final Smash. After stumbling around Dracula's castle terrified, he confronts death itself and is promptly murdered. It boasts a number of Gothic enemies to battle, including Dracula himself every "blue moon", as well as Alucard as an assist trophy.

Earlier this morning, Nintendo held a Nintendo Direct exclusively focusing on the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster as an Echo fighter.

One possibility is that Nintendo will dig even deeper into its history to add some obscure fighters, or maybe it will give in to fan demands and make Waluigi a playable character.

The Nintendo Direct is dedicated to Super Smash Bros. Combine this with Phil Spencer already stating in the past that he wants to see Banjo and Kazooie in Super Smash Bros.

Demi Lovato Agrees to Rehab due to Severity of Her Overdose

One is based on New Donk City from Super Mario Odyssey, complete with Mayor Pauline performing background music with her four-man band. The stage also features 34 new and classic music tracks. Ultimate will also feature some returning favorites, both for single and multiplayer situations. Up until now, each stage had its own music track. Clearly, Nintendo is looking to deliver in spades and have Ultimate live up to its name.

The biggest mystery of the trailer, however, came from a brief glimpse of the game's main menu, where a game mode was present, but carefully blurred out. No price has been revealed for the Smash Bros. Ultimate's YouTube channel, possibly indicating that the Castlevania franchise will now be incorporated into the upcoming fighting game. Items in the game can be picked up and used offensively and defensively in battle. "He'll assist the player with his Crissaegrim sword, and vampire powers". Some of these Pokémon include Abra, Solgaleo, Lunala, Mimikyu and the enormous Alolan Exeggutor. Though it's fairly simple, it's also quite a bit different from the other two standard modes, which focus on earning points through knock outs. Could this be the return of a full story/adventure mode? Ultimate all launching within three months of one another.

A new mode called Squad Strike will use 3 or 5 fighters to create elimination matches. Smashdown mode forces players to choose new characters, as each elimination removes previously selected fighters from the options.

Because of these additions, Training mode sounds like it's going to be a great way to learn a new character quickly. Wii U, which featured 56 stages.
