Mainz Confirm Yoshinori Muto Is Newcastle United Bound

Newcastle United have signed Japanese global Yoshinori Muto from Bundesliga club Mainz for a reported £9.5m.

"Yes. We did this business with Muto because we needed to do something more".

Muto, 26, scored eight goals for the Bundesliga club last season as they avoided relegation by five points.

Mitrovic should be an instant hit at Craven Cottage after hitting 12 goals in 20 Championship games during the second half of last season on-loan at Fulham, helping the Cottagers secure a return to the top-flight.

"He played in the World Cup in a good team".

Another story that has rumbled on throughout the transfer window concerns Dwight Gayle, who looks set to leave Tyneside to complete a move to recently relegated West Brom - with Sky Sports suggesting it could be a swap deal.

It appears to us, the club have gotten a decent price for the Serbian striker, now let's hope the cash is spent wisely.

Rondon has been linked with a switch back to the Premier League throughout the summer, with Newcastle now making their move.

Newcastle stated: "Newcastle United can confirm that Japan worldwide Yoshinori Muto has been on Tyneside today ahead of a proposed move to the club".

The West Brom striker Salomon Rondon, a Venezuelan global, is claimed to be Benitez's prime striking target as he attempts to sharpen up an attack that struggled to score enough goals last term.

We understand the Venezuela global has a £16.5m release clause in his contract and Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez sees him as a replacement for Aleksandar Mitrovic.
