After earning the FIFA World Cup Best Young Player Award at the tournament, this 19-year-old from a very humble background donated all the roughly $500,000 he earned as a player to a charity that helps disabled youth in France.

So the World Cup is over after just over a month of intense football, travelling, long nights and early mornings, flights and press-room coffee.

He added: "I really think the world wants to see us get along". While Putin was handed an umbrella, Grabar-Kitarovic had to make do without, but she did not let the rain dampen her spirits.

The emir says through a translator that the World Cup "will be a huge and great festival for all our country".

Argentina came into the Round of 16 tie against France on the back of a satisfying display against Nigeria which marked the return of form of Lionel Messi.
