Tesla investors tell Elon Musk to apologize for 'pedo' Twitter remarks

Shares of Tesla Inc fell 2.75 per cent on Monday after CEO Elon Musk directed abuse on Twitter at one of the British cave divers involved in the rescue of 12 Thai children last week.

Unsworth, who lives in Thailand, was among the first cave divers on the scene in Mae Sai after the boys from the Wild Boars soccer team and their coach became trapped inside on June 23. Unsworth told CNN he is considering legal action.

Until recently, Twitter and Musk's personality worked well for Tesla.

"He should focus on his profession", Zhao said, adding that if Musk wanted to help these kinds of causes, he should have a separate charity organization. But the tweets spiked to about 400 per month starting in May as Musk was under pressure to raise production of the Model 3 lower-priced electric vehicle, which starts at US$35,000.

"It's not finished", Unsworth said on Monday in a new interview with 7 News Sydney.

As Abby Ohlheiser has already chronicled for the Washington Post, Musk accepted the challenge with "a lengthy, live brainstorming process on Twitter", which ended when he traveled to Thailand with a miniature submarine made from rocket parts, tweeted some photos of the cave, left the device there and went home.

In a now-deleted tweet responding to Zeynep Tufekci, a New York Times writer who wrote an opinion column lightly criticizing Musk's well-publicized offers to help, Elon Musk wrote, "You know what, don't bother showing the video".

The accusation and reaction took some attention away from a different social media flurry on Saturday, when Musk took to Twitter to explain why he donated money to the Republican Party - specifically, $38,900 to a Republican political action committee called Protect the House.

But the indictment identifies the defendants as officers with Russia's Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff, also known as GRU.

Condemnation of his remarks seemed universal - a mixture of outrage at the slur against Unsworth, outrage against the implied slur against Thailand, and yet more mockery of Musk.

Given the pressure, Musk may want to reconsider his approach to dealing with his critics, said Bryan Reber, who teaches public relations at the University of Georgia. "And so essentially if you attack me, it is therefore OK for me to attack back", Musk told Bloomberg. "Well." He cleared his throat. At the end of the day we were here to rescue 12 young boys.

"He had no conception of what the cave massage was like", said Unsworth, whose intimate knowledge of the cave was reportedly pivotal to the successful rescue effort.

Reuters could not immediately reach Unsworth for comment.

But Unsworth stopped short of saying anything personal about Musk, adding, "I am not gonna make any further comment about him but I think people realize what sort of guy he is".

There have also been larger issues involving Tesla.

Musk and Tesla have gone silent since he deleted the tweets, ignoring repeated requests for comment since Sunday.
