Dejan Lovren Says He's One Of The Best Defenders In The World

It's the smallest country to reach the World Cup final since Uruguay in 1950, and now, Croatia faces its biggest challenge, will the team finally be able to win the final against France and lift the World Cup trophy for the first time ever.

The former Southampton man has had a lot of unnecessary flak in recent times, including a whole lot of abuse on social media after he had an absolute stinker in a 4-1 defeat to Spurs at Wembley.

Dejan Lovren says people should respect him as "one of the best defenders in the world" having helped Croatia to the World Cup final and Liverpool to the final of the Champions League.

He said: "It feels incredible, especially after everything that was said about us before the game". Now with my national team we are in the final.

Lovren was not impressed when he was reminded of that day by an English reporter.

"Why didn't you ask me about when I played well?" I think people should respect me also.

Dawn Laguens, the Executive Vice President of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, said at a press conference in D.C. Democrats need to maintain their votes, plus one Republican to vote against the nominee to halt confirmation.

"I admire his ability to fancy himself, but he isn't one of the best defenders in the world".

Croatia's participation in Monday's final will mark a remarkable staging post in the journey of one of its key players Dejan Lovren, who experienced life as a child refugee in the 1990s after fleeing war-torn Bosnia.

"There is too much about me but, whatever, this is what gets me more motivated to work harder and prove everyone wrong". And Lovren insists they are not scared for the French, who will be favourites to fit the trophy for the second time, 20 years after beating the Croats in the last four.

Lovren says he remembers his mum took him and they went to the basement and can't remember how long they sat there. People now will never forget us.

"He's proud of me and what I've achieved", he said.

'We have the chance to do something better, and hopefully we can do it on Sunday.
