How Kylie Jenner became a Billionaire at only 20 years

Forbes The 20-year-old with her seemingly unstoppable makeup empire, Kylie Cosmetics, is one of seven newcomers on the list.

By Forbes' conservative estimate, Jenner's company is valued at almost US$800 million (AU$1.09 billion). In Forbes annual ranking of America's Richest Self-Made Women, out in August, Jenner - is said to be worth about $900 million!

She's already the youngest person on Forbes' list of richest self-made United States women and another year of growth would make her the youngest self-made billionaire ever, beating Mark Zuckerberg, who crossed the threshold at the age of 23.

It was not all bad for the Kardashin-Jenners, with the tape making Kim a household name on the eve of her family's reality show hitting the airwaves.

Kylie's half-sister Kim Kardashian was formerly the highest earning member of the family, and has a current net worth of $350 million.

Since then, the company has sold $630m (R8,4 bliion) of makeup, helped in a large part by Jenner's own social media presence. She has become so dominant on social media that when she tweeted that she had become bored with Snapchat, its parent company's stock lost 6% of its value within a day, around $1.3bn (over R17 billion). "I have such easy access to my fans and my customers".

UK: Dawn Sturgess dies after exposure to nerve agent Novichok
The hospital's medical director, Christine Blanshard, told the BBC that hospital staff worked tirelessly to save Sturgess. The possibility that the two investigations might be linked is "clearly a key line of inquiry for police" , the Met said.

Writer Roxane Gay stated that it wasn't actually shade to point out that Jenner "isn't self-made".

Kylie says her business started with $250,000 of her own money that she made from modelling and endorsement deals.

Ironically, right before this announcement, she unveiled that she removed all her lip fillers.

"Thank you @Forbes for this article and the recognition", added Kylie.

When the lip kits went on sale in November 2015, they sold out in seconds, but Kylie said it wasn't always smooth sailing.

We're throwing major side-eye at the enormous reach that would constitute the cosmetics guru as self-made, but her rise to the top of the food chain is still pretty impressive.
