LeBron James to join Los Angeles Lakers in $154m deal

In his four years back with his home state team, the 33-year-old Akron, Ohio native led the Cavs to four straight NBA Finals appearances. But the Lakers need a center and nearly the entire regime (from the players to the coaching staff to the front office) is now different from when Howard played there.

When they acquired LeBron James, the Lakers signed Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, and Rajon Rondo to a one-year deal to keep their salary cap flexibility in the following offseason. Here are five reasons to love the Lakers signing James.

Ticket seller StubHub on Tuesday said visits to the Lakers ticket page were up 7,398 percent over the same date past year even though next season's schedule has yet to be announced. "They were a lot younger the last time I made a decision like this four years ago". The same could happen to Leonard if the Spurs trade him to another team.

Complicating matters further for the Rockets is the continued speculation about where Kawhi Leonard will play next season.

He won't come at almost the same price as other top trade targets such as Kawhi Leonard, and given the Cavs poor cap situation, the Bulls would have a ton of leverage in any trade talks.

The paper reported Friday that Richardson said she was advised "we were doing all we could do" in response to Ramos' threats. According to court documents , the judge said, "There is nothing" to prove "anything that was published" was in fact false.

The 2,600-pound banner posted on the Sherwin-Williams Global Headquarters Wall was originally installed in 2014 when James returned to Cleveland from the Miami Heat.

While LeBron is looking to sell tickets to his film projects, he has already given a big boost to interest in Lakers tickets for next season. They traded a top-10 protected pick to the Atlanta Hawks for Kyle Korver.

Instead, James signed a four-year deal with the Lakers (with a reported opt-in for the fourth year).

At the moment, there's a good chance we won't see LeBron James in the Finals this year.

A pre-sale of the James jersey began at 8:45 p.m. ET on Sunday night, less than one hour after the four-time NBA MVP announced his intention to sign with the Lakers.
