Melania Trump wears ‘I really don't care' jacket before visiting migrant children

Wildfang, based in Portland with a store in New York City, shared a photo on social media Thursday of an army jacket with white writing on the back that reads "I really care, don't u?" asking people if they'd be interested in purchasing one. All of the proceeds from the clothing line benefit the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES), a non-profit that provides low-priced or pro-bono legal services to undocumented immigrants. While boarding the plane to head toward the US-Mexican border, she wore a white long-sleeved shirt, white jeans, and Adidas sneakers, finishing the look with the tone-deaf pièce de résistance: a green parka that read "I Really Don't Care, Do U?" in enormous white lettering on the back.

"When I heard she was doing this, I thought, okay!" The first lady did not explain the meaning of the message, though President Donald Trump said she it was directed at the news media.

The message on Trump's jacket sparked outrage and criticism from many who felt the jacket was an indirect message on the immigration crisis.

"Thank you to Secretary Azar for traveling w me today & the care you are giving these children in such a hard time". Liberty is in Mrs. Trump's jacket and declares: "We should all care".

The photos show the children all smiles while meeting Melania, who wore tight white jeans and white trainers with the changed jacket.

Kamala Harris, other Democratic lawmakers call on Kirstjen Nielsen to resign
Traffickers and others can pose as families in order to game the system, Nielsen said, and they have become good at it. We do not want adults to bring children into this country unlawfully, placing them at risk.

The youthful jacket sharply contrasts with the first lady's typically bold, foreign-flavoured wardrobe. "After today's important visit to Texas, I hope this isn't what the media is going to choose to focus on", Grisham said.

"Melania has learned how dishonest they are, and she truly no longer cares!"

Melania Trump's unannounced trip to a youth shelter for migrants and a Border Patrol processing center came one day after President Donald Trump made a sudden decision to end the practice of splitting immigrant families that has left more than 2,300 minors separated from their parents or guardians.

Wildfang's version of the jacket nearly immediately sold out, but the company created several other options, including a bomber and a t-shirt, with the same message printed on them. "That money is going to help reunite families, and provide advocacy for immigrants in need", said Wildfang employees in a statement.
