The Three Lions boss, who suffered a dislocated shoulder while out running earlier this week, played down the tactical significance of the information which was revealed.

"The most surreal part was sitting in the bus on the way to the stadium, just looking out the window as we're driving down Harrow Road", he says.

According to a report from the Sun, the German wants to bring Aston Villa's Jack Grealish to Anfield this summer in an attempt to add more creativity and guile to his midfield options.

"I feel they need to worry about us more than we need to worry about them".

Southgate took a tumble while running near England's World Cup camp in Repino and was treated in a nearby hospital.

The 22-year-old Tottenham star has been struggling with a thigh injury since the Tunisia game, missing consecutive days of training, and it appears that Southgate may not be willing to risk him unnecessarily.
