As a pre-wedding gift to the prince, the Queen appointed her grandson a Commonwealth youth ambassador, his most high profile role to as a royal to date.

Kensington Palace made the announcement this morning, confirming the pair will also visit Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand on their South Pacific trip.

Prince Harry, who served with the British army in Afghanistan, was the first member of the Royal family to enter a combat zone since 1982.

Meghan Markle stood out from the Queen, Kate Middleton and Camilla Parker Bowles as she was the only one who did not wear blue.

In celebration of the queen's birthday, which is actually in April, over 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians come together each June in a display of military precision and horsemanship.

The event was attended by other senior royals including the Queen, Prince Charles and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

It was Meghan's first time in such a grand royal event, filled with age-old pomp and circumstance.

After Meghan Markle confirmed her father Thomas won't attend the wedding, Prince Charles offered to walk the bride down the aisle.

The royals watched a fly-past undertaken by the Royal Air Force.

Kate - in a $68 Zara sundress and summer wedges - sat on the ground to watch her husband play, plonked Charlotte on her lap and broke into a run down a small hill.

"I hope that more people like me, not just Sikhs but from other religions and different backgrounds, that they will be encouraged to join the army", he said.

The Countess of Wessex looked stunning in a bold pink ensemble at 2018's Trooping The Colour - continuing a string of stylish royal appearances. Expect to see Meghan at a carefully chosen selection of them as she continues her introduction to her new life as a senior royal.
