Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 6 to premiere in 2019

The detectives of Brooklyn Nine-Nine will live to solve another case, as NBC swooped in to rescue the show a day after Fox cancelled the veteran cop comedy.

Samberg's apologies, it seems, have been enough for Bob Greenblatt, who said in an NBC conference call Sunday, "We're thrilled to have [Brooklyn Nine-Nine.] We think it fits into our brand of comedy in many ways better than it ever fit into the Fox brand of comedy".

Brooklyn Nine-Nine's season 5 finale, which will center around Peralta and Amy Santiago's wedding, will now act as the show's overall finale.

Fox chairman Gary Newman said that was "a ratings-based decision; we had very a successful late year with all four new dramas renewed".

On Monday, the comedy's star Andy Samberg appeared at NBC's annual upfront presentation for advertisers. I just rejoiced, and Andy and I were just texting each other, so ecstatic.

Nearly immediately after news broke of the cancellation, an outcry of anger over the cancellation and support of the show took the internet by storm.

Gunshots were first reported at Highland High School in Palmdale, north of Los Angeles, around 7:00 a.m. The campus was then placed on lockdown and students were told to shelter in place, McDonnell said.

One of the creators of the series "Brooklyn 9-9" Dan Gur has delighted all his followers on Twitter, saying that NBC will continue the filming of the popular sitcom about police officers. But it sounds like the fan push to renew the show wasn't really a big factor for NBC, since they were already on the same page.

There was some good news if you're a fan of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and/or "Last Man Standing".

Meyers also poked fun at television's recent penchant for resuscitating shows of yesteryear. "Even past year when "Last Man" was canceled, we really looked for an opportunity to move it to our schedule and we just didn't have the right show to pair it with". Brooklyn Nine-Nine is produced by Universal TV, a studio aligned with the NBC Universal corporate family. "Thanks in no small part to you, the best fans in the history of the world!" Premiere of the 1st season took place in autumn 2013.

"Last Man Standing" was actually dropped by ABC because the network was losing money on the show.

Asked by Entertainment Weekly if fan fervour had anything to do with the pick-up, Greenblatt said, "We love the fans and we love when they're vocal".

Although the show was beloved by its fans, it wasn't a big ratings victor for Fox.
