The Magic are taking Lil' Penny to the draft lottery

The Magic are taking Lil' Penny to the draft lottery

When it comes to the Pistons pick, there is a 0.7 percent chance that the pick is number one and a 2.5 percent chance of landing in the top three.

Lottery odds are based on reverse order of record. But for the Magic, a team that desperately needs a talent infusion, nabbing a top-three pick this year would be crucial.

In 1985, the first time an NBA Draft Lottery was held, the Knicks won and selected Patrick Ewing.

It would be typical Los Angeles Clippers luck though if the Pistons pick somehow landed first overall and the Clippers had to forfeit the pick that they received for Griffin.

Donald Trump lauds capture of five Islamic State commanders by Iraq
It should be noted President Trump's CIA director nominee, Gina Haspel, is now the acting director at the agency. Hashimi referred to Eithawi and Jamal as "the two most senior Islamic State figures ever to be captured alive".

Thanks to a couple of pointless late-season wins (and some early-season success before Kristaps Porzingis tore his ACL), the Knicks only have a 6.1 percent chance of moving into the top three. But even he would readily acknowledge how important the lottery is to the Magic, a franchise in need of a jump-start. If it is not, then all they can do is look back on potential losses got away from them in the regular season.

Williams said he and Lil' Penny will sit in the room with the National Basketball Association lottery machine, hopefully bringing the team luck winning a top draft pick. That is how they drafted Irving in the first place.

There also are several trades at play.

Plus, if Boston were to somehow end up getting lucky with the Lakers falling in the 2-5 range, at least Philadelphia would still be in great shape for next year's Sacramento pick. The selection is most likely going to land at No. 10 and in addition to that, the Sixers own their pick at No. 26. If it's No. 1 or it doesn't rise, the Philadelphia 76ers will have the pick. Crazier stuff has happened, though, and adding another blue-chip prospect to either one of these teams seems nearly unfair.
