The superhero film raked in $200 million (1.26 billion RMB) in the world's second-largest market, far surpassing the opening weekend performances of other Marvel movies.

With Thursday previews bringing in $39 million (Rs 263 crore), Infinity War crossed the previous Marvel record of $27 million, set by Age of Ultron. No matter how this battle shakes up, Disney is guaranteed to have the third and fourth highest grossing films of all time so I am going to guess that the Disney execs aren't sweating it all that much.

In an interview with HuffPost over the weekend, Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo discussed the fates of several popular characters following the tragic finale.

China's opening helped it make $281.3 million internationally just over the weekend.

Now, AIW is the fifth highest-grossing film of all-time in worldwide markets, only behind Avatar ($2.02 billion), Titanic ($1.52 billion), Furious 7 ($1.16 billion), and Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($1.13 billion). It's also the first superhero film to breach the $1 billion mark in worldwide total, besting Ultron's $946 million global takings and The Avengers' $895 million. Final domestic figures will be released Monday. Should Thanos and Star-Lord have had a dance-off in the recent Avengers film?

Leicester City boss Claude Puel: 'We should have beaten Tottenham Hotspur'
Kane raced clear and slotted home to make it 1-1 as he tried to win the PL Golden Boot for the third-straight season. Two minutes later, Lamela pulled one back as he tapped the ball in from close range and reduced the deficit to 3-2.

In the "lives" category, we have Howard the Duck (Seth Green), Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), and Nakia - though regarding Lupita Nyong'o's character, the Russos said that she is "deep undercover", which is why she wasn't in Infinity War, but wouldn't comment specifically on her status post-dusting.

In the race for top domestic superhero movie, "Infinity War" ($547.8 million) still has a ways to go to top Disney/Marvel's "Black Panther" ($696.2 million).

Now, trade pundits and box-office enthusiasts are waiting with bated breath to see if AIW will touch the $2 billion mark in global total and join the company of Avatar, Titanic and Force Awakens.

"Infinity War's" run of weekend titles should end this weekend, when "Deadpool 2" opens.
