Clayne Crawford Breaks Silence on 'Lethal Weapon' Firing

Lethal Weapon is packed with action, drama and pure fun and we can't wait to see Damon and Seann together on screen.

Crawford was dismissed from the series after a repeated showing of what execs and producers characterized as "repeated instances of emotional abuse of cast and crew members", that dated back several months.

Indeed, FOX announced today that Lethal Weapon Season 3 is happening, but Crawford will no longer be part of the show. He said the first incident happened when he became angry with what he deemed unsafe working conditions on the set.

With Crawford having been let go, his role will be taken over by American Pie's Sean William Scott, who will be playing an entirely new character, likely as Riggs' brother to keep the Murtagh-Riggs dynamic alive. The series, based on the hit feature films starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover, stars Keesha Sharp, Kevin Rahm, Jordana Brewster, Johnathan Fernandez, Dante Brown, Chandler Kinney, and Michelle Mitchenor.

It will be the first network series role for Scott.

This season, Lethal Weapon averaged a 1.7 most current rating among adults 18-49 and 6.9 million total viewers. Television producing in association with Lin Pictures and Good Session Productions.

Days after multiple outlets, including THR, reported that Crawford had been fired from the series, the actor posted multiple messages on his verified social media accounts indicating that he had yet to be informed of his future on Lethal Weapon.

The action drama is executive produced by Matt Miller, Dan Lin, Jennifer Gwartz and McG.
