'Avengers: Infinity War' Becomes Fifth-Highest Grossing Film Globally

But in a respectable third place was Universal's "Breaking In". The box office will get into the full summer movie season swing when "Deadpool 2" opens next weekend to kick off a constant string of big releases. However, if you are one of those who sat through Avengers: Infinity War without watching the previous films in the franchise and was not able to wrap your head around what exactly was happening, do not think you are the only one. An untitled sequel is already on the calendar for May 3, 2019.

As it stands, Infinity War is now the highest grossing superhero release internationally of all-time with its $1.059 billion topping the $946.4 million for Avengers: Age of Ultron. The film is marginally behind Jurassic World which stands with the collections of $ $1.67 billion and will cross it in the upcoming days to grab the fourth position in the list.

Defensively, the Tampa Bay Lighting are allowing 2.9 goals per game and are killing 76.1 percent of their opponents power plays. Immediately after that bad break for the Lightning , Alex Ovechkin scored a power play goal to make it 2-0 Washington .

In second is Warner Bros. and New Line's Life of the Party, delivering an estimated $18.5 million. The film received lackluster reviews from critics, and audiences gave it a tepid B CinemaScore. Melissa McCarthy's comedy "Life of the Party" debuted in second with US$18.5 million from 3,656 locations. Meanwhile, Gabrielle Union's "Breaking In" launched in third with US$16.5 million in 2,537 locations. The movie's early industry projections have it opening around $150 million. It is the only film of 2018 to break the 10 million mark.

The superhero adventure also topped 2012's "Avengers" as the highest-grossing superhero film globally.

Paramount's horror blockbuster A Quiet Place rounded out the top five with $6.4 million for a domestic total of $169.6 million.
