IPL 2018: Warm Delhi to host DD vs SRH clash

Delhi Daredevils won the toss and opted to bat first against a strong bowling line-up of SRH. Sunrisers Hyderabad will have to face Delhi Daredevils in the game tonight which does not look like a very hard task for the former.

The Bangladeshi spinner claimed Roy's wicket right in the next delivery, giving the hosts no room to recover with two wickets for 21 runs with both Prithvi Shaw and Jason Roy dismissed at 9 and 11 runs respectively to give way for skipper Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant.

However after the early loss of England batsman Alex Hales, Williamson and Dhawan went to town. Harshal Patel departed at team's total of 98 runs in 14 overs. SRH opener S Dhawan brought up his FIFTY off 30 deliveries. While Williamson notched his 6th half century of the tournament, Dhawan also finally came good with a breezy 92.

Dhawan who was in bad touch since he made his comeback scored 92* off 50 with 9 fours are 4 sixes.

In their last meeting at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, the Sunrisers romped home by 7 wickets as Delhi once again squandered a great start to lose the plot in the dying stages. Batsmen were getting restless due to a slow run rate.

Their unbroken partnership for the second wicket of 176 runs is the highest in the IPL this year.

Even though Delhi has Shreyas Iyer, Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant to put up a score that creates difficulty for SRH, but they have to stick and perform rock solid in front of the bowling maestros. Out of the 11 times that these two teams have faced each other, Sunrisers hold an edge having won on seven occasions as compared to Delhi's four victories.

However, young Pant carried on his fine form and smashed his first IPL hundred to swing the momentum back in favour of the hosts.

Pacer Kaul too needed a forgettable outing as he conceded 48 conducts off his four overs.

The Kiwi batsman has scored 410 runs so far, with five fifties to his name. SRH will travel to Pune to take on the Chennai Super Kings on May 13. Delhi has been struggling in all departments but it would be interesting to see the Daredevils can survive the Hyderabad bowlers this time around.

By the end of the first innings, Pant's unbeaten blitzkrieg of 128 from 63 balls had powered Daredevils to 187/5 in the stipulated 20 overs and given Sunrisers Hyderabad's reputation in run chases and performance with the bat many had already signed them off for it could have been their highest successful run chase ever.
