RE: Rolls-Royce Cullinan launches

It is the first time the SUV, well a part of it, has been seen without wearing heavy camouflage. Referred to by the British luxury brand as a "high-bodied car", the new model is aimed squarely at the upper end of the luxury SUV market, where its rivals include the Bentley Bentayga, Lamborghini Urus, Range Rover, Porsche Cayenne and Mercedes GLS and G-Class.

Bringing an end to almost four years of wait, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV - a first ever for the automaker, will be revealed later today. The Westhampnett-based carmaker announced a high-riding vehicle three years ago under the name, Project Cullinan, and has retained the name for its newest model. The carmaker has also revealed several cladded images of the SUV along with a couple of teasers ahead of tomorrow's global debut.

Two more days, so stay tuned. In another nod to modernity, there are five USB slots around the cabin, along with wireless charging for smartphones in the front. "Phantom will remain our ultimate flagship and the pinnacle position of luxury, Ghost is the younger, successful entrepreneur's choice of mobility and Cullinan is the third component and will attract younger, more progressive customers", Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Rolls-Royce's CEO told us. With just a touch of button, the seats can automatically be deployed.

On sale later this year, the new Cullinan will sit underneath the Phantom in regards to the asking price, but still hover around the £230-300k mark. The module provides custom designed storage for tools suitable to an owner's hobbies, like hawking, hunting, or drone racing, or it can stow the seats and cocktail table for the Rolls-Royce Viewing Suite.

Melanoma Monday raising awareness about dangers of skin cancer
S. #210, Edina and on Monday, May 21, from 5:30 to 8 Minnesota Oncology Maplewood Cancer Center, 1580 Beam Ave., Maplewood. It is estimated that this year the US will see roughly 91,000 new cases of melanoma, resulting in about 9,000 deaths.

As expected, from hints the company dropped in recent months, the Cullinan comes with a 6.75 liter, twin-turbo V12 engine that gets 563 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. This helps keep road noise down and allows the boot to be opened without disturbing rear-seat occupants. Larger air struts with more air volume have been added to cushion the blows of the off-road terrains, and the front axle suspension layout has been completely redesigned. The reason? So you don't get covered in muck when getting in or out.

The grille is created from hand-polished stainless steel. Top speed is electronically limited to 250kph. The Lounge Seat is your conventional three-seat bench, which also offers 40/20/40 folding. Deliveries should begin in 2019.

Rolls-Royce has never been known to follow industry trends, so it's no surprise that downsizing and electrification are notable by their absence.
