Browns' rookie top-five pick Denzel Ward already sidelined to injury

Mayfield owns three of our seven highest-graded quarterback seasons since we started grading college prospects in 2014.

Ward's hip injury will keep him out for an unknown amount of time, but the Browns want to make sure he'll be ready for when it truly counts: in September.

An undersized quarterback with some character concerns; that preconception clearly didn't phase the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns surprised many in the sport when they used their No 1 overall selection on Mayfield, who joined Tyrod Taylor and Drew Stanton as the QBs on the Browns depth chart.

There has only been one other team in National Football League history that has gone winless: the 2008 Detroit Lions. As far as common sense goes, you don't draft someone with the No. 1 overall pick to be a backup. Jackson is sticking with his vow to make Taylor the starter. Baker doesn't know. The thing I like about the young man, he's going to do the work.

Elon Musk goes on Twitter to defend his weird earnings call behavior
Musk turned to Twitter this Friday to defend his behavior that had caused a 5% dip in the share value of Tesla . Both analysts were not immediately available for a comment on Musk's tweets.

Oklahoma is the lone program to produce two quarterbacks this millennium who were picked No. 1 overall, and the only program since the 1940s to produce two No. 1 QB picks in a 10-year period. Cleveland recently picked up quarterback Tyrod Taylor from the Buffalo Bills this spring, which led many fans to believe that Taylor would be the Browns' franchise quarterback.

The decision to pass on Sam Darnold could come back to bite them, but the reasons they've recently given for their love of Mayfield reveal that the call wasn't really all that hard.

"Baker, he's working at it", Jackson said. I think that the ones that have been through it and have played the game are the ones that I would definitely bounce the most questions off of. "He made some really good throws".

"Obviously, he's one of the greatest athletes to ever play sports in general, " Mayfield said. "There are some things we've got to clean up". Can't have the ball on the ground as much. "You've got to learn the playbook, and then when you get your opportunity, you've got to show that you're there for a reason". The city of Cleveland has seen the rise and fall of a plethora of quarterbacks throughout the years - some who were doomed from the start.
