The Coconino County Board of Supervisors also declared a state of emergency Sunday since the fire was edging close to homes and buildings.

As of 8 a.m. Monday, the Tinder Fire is only reported at 8,000 acres, but a very active fire spread on Sunday produced a large smoke plume that has spread into southern Colorado. The cause of the fire was listed as "under investigation" and "human" on InciWeb.

"I'm issuing today's declaration to ensure that they have the necessary resources to protect the lives, pets and property of Arizonans", Ducey said in a statement. The evacuations will be in effect until further notice, KNXV-TV reports.

Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya television said the strike had targeted the interior ministry in Sanaa, which is controlled by the militia. The blockade has since been partially lifted, but access to the impoverished country remains limited.

More than 500 firefighters and personnel are assigned to battle the Tinder Fire, which was sparked east of Clints Well on Friday.

The Coconino National Forest tweeted that winds were blowing very hard east-southeast with gusts up to 30 miles per hour. "We will continue to coordinate with state and local emergency response officials", said Governor Ducey.

Two other Arizona fires burned on Monday but were closer to containment than the Tinder Fire. Significant fire growth is expected to continue due to strong southwest winds and red flag conditions.
