Rapper Meek Mill celebrates prison release with visit to National Basketball Association play-off

The tough judge who dished out the harsh sentence to Meek Mill and repeatedly refused to free him on bail is still refusing to step down from his case - even after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court invited her in a written order to do so "in the interests of justice".

In a statement to TMZ about his release, Meek wrote, "While the past five months have been a nightmare, the prayers, visits, calls, letters and rallies have helped me stay positive". Peruto said Brinkley may not side with the prosecutor and Mill's lawyer, who are asking her to throw it out.

The rapper was spotted arriving at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia just in time for the sporting event, where the plan was for him to take his first post-jail shower before taking a seat as Rubin's guest of honour.

Robert Rihmeek Williams popularly known as Meek Mill was born May 6, 1987, in South Philadelphia, he is a rapper and songwriter.

Last year, Mill released "Wins & Losses", his third official full-length album (he's also released many mixtapes); its gritty raps and trademark seriousness saved his career.

Mill sat courtside next to actor and noted Sixers fan Kevin Hart and Sixers co-owner Michael Rubin. How he was sentenced to prison, released after eight months and put on probation for five years-a period that has been extended multiple times.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Rapper Meek Mill said Wednesday that now that he's out of prison, a lot of people facing similar battles with the criminal justice system are depending on him. Judge Brinkley was severely criticized for what some say was a grudge against Meek and keeping him in prison, despite prosecutors asking that his conviction be overturned because of a dirty cop. "I was just happy", Embiid said. "I understand that many people of color across the country don't have that luxury and I plan to use my platform to shine a light on those issues".

The 30-year-old was due to serve between two and four years but a court granted him bail due to the "credibility" concerns of a witness. "He's gotta get a shower, and we gotta go win this game", Rubin told a group of reporters in the parking lot after the auto pulled up about 45 minutes before tipoff.

Mill, a South Philadelphia native, had attended Sixers games regularly before going to prison.

Members of the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles also championed Mill's cause.

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft visited Mill at a state prison in Pennsylvania earlier this month and later called for criminal justice reform. Other officers are expected to testify in court, Judge Brinkley notes, and the judge will decide her ruling based on what they have to say in the upcoming summer trial.
