CAF president celebrates Mohammed Salah's PFA Player of the Year award

"I've worked hard and I'm very happy to win it", he added.

The captian also praised the impact of manager Jürgen Klopp on the team, describing him as a coach who strikes the ideal balance between personality and determination.

Mohamed Salah, the man referred to as the "Egyptian King" by the Anfield faithful, was the well deserved victor of this season's PFA Player of the Year award at last night's event.

"This is a big test, a big challenge in Roma, but I feel we're ready for it".

Roberto Firmino is the ideal example of this, and it has been suggested numerous times this campaign that Suarez would have adored playing as a forward in Klopp's Liverpool side.

It is the first time a City player has won the award for 42 years - Peter Barnes landed it in 1975/76 - and Sane is the first German to hold the honour.

Mohamed Salah may have been named the PFA Player of the Year, but former Everton wideman Steven Pienaar believes that Kevin De Bruyne has been the Premier League's outstanding talent this season.

Brandon Belt sets Major League Baseball record with 21-pitch at-bat
On Tuesday, Belt singled with two outs in the eighth inning to break up Corbin's no-hitter in Phoenix. Barria had thrown nine pitches to Joe Panik, who hit a leadoff single, before throwing 21 to Belt.

"You can't really jump the gun", says Rush who was in Dublin on Monday morning to promote the summer friendly between Liverpool and Napoli at the Aviva stadium on August 4th. "I always think about the team, I don't think about myself", Salah said.

"The team has helped me a lot because of the way we play". The Belgian looked like the only realistic choice for the award through the first half of the season, but Salah's form since the turn of the year inspired a re-think.

"In Europe, Liverpool are playing extremely well".

Despite their rich heritage in the competition as five-time winners, Liverpool have not been in the last four of the Champions League for a decade.

Suarez won the award, and also scored 31 league goals, back in 2013/14, when he nearly single-handedly dragged Liverpool to the title.

"Back then, they said he was the Egyptian Messi who was going to come through, and when he moved to Chelsea he was just unlucky that he didn't get the opportunity that he's getting now".

Mohamed Salah has been voted the PFA Player of the Year for the 2017-18 season after a stellar first campaign at Liverpool. We just put on a similar if not better performance than Man City and hopefully we can get to the final.
