It is the second major outage in less than a week, with the previous one affecting some 840,000 customers.

The island of Puerto Rico continues to face issues, especially a financial crisis that existed even before Hurricane Maria hit.

Hurricane Maria destroyed Puerto Rico's power grid in September and the island has been struggling to fix it ever since.

The airport said on Twitter that it was running on a generator and so far no flights had been cancelled or delayed.
