Seahawks postponed Kaepernick workout after he declined to stop anthem protests

A resource told ESPN that the excursion was delay after the Seahawks contended about Kaepernick's anthem demonstration.

Kaepernick, 30, visited with the Seahawks last May, when Seattle was in the market for a backup to starting quarterback Russell Wilson, but the team decided not to sign him.

Eric Reid was also asked for assurances from the Bengals that he would not participate in on-field activism.

In October, Kaepernick registered a grievance instance accusing NFL owners of colluding against him to keep him out from their league under a collective bargaining arrangement. He was deposed by the NFL's lawyers in that lawsuit on Tuesday.

As I have stated before, I have no objections to players bringing light to issues of social injustice by kneeling, which I see as an expression of peaceful protest rather than an affront to patriotism. However, the trip was canceled over the last-minute stipulation regarding Kaepernick's protests during the anthem. Kaepernick opted out of his contract with the team, setting himself up as a free agent to potentially player for a different organization.

Sensex, Nifty open higher on hopes of easing of trade tensions
The Sensex and Nifty closed higher on Wednesday amid volatile trade, extending their winning streak to a fifth straight day. Earlier, the gauge had gained over 750 points in the previous three sessions.

Kaepernick started spat throughout the national anthem during the 20-16 to 2017 year as part of the demonstration from police brutality whilst he was using all the San Francisco 49ers. 'I think because of his protests, he's not'.

In his final season with the 49ers, Kaepernick racked up over 2,700 total yards, and 16 passing touchdowns to just four interceptions. By the close of 2018, a number of National Football League players - and people across the country - had joined the protest (with Michael Bennett, Cliff Avril, and Jeremy Lane being notable local participants). The Seahawks worked out Kaepernick last offseason when he became a free agent but did not sign him.

This has thrown a major wrench into Kaepernick's desire to work his way back into the NFL.

There are reports the workout has been "postponed" - but we're being told it's off the table.

Head coaches John Harbaugh of the Ravens and the team's general manager, Ozzie Newsome, are also on the request list from Kaepernick's attorneys.
