League Veteran Andre Ingram Drops 19 in NBA Debut

The NBA's latest debutante, 32-year-old G League lifer Andre Ingram, shares more in common with the Association's elder statesmen than the teenagers who comprise the bulk of the 2017-18 rookie class.

After 10 years of grinding in the G League, Ingram had a chance to show off his talents on the big stage that is the National Basketball Association, and he took advantage of it, nearly leading the Lakers to a come-from-behind victory against the best team in the league.

Check out some of the highlights and reactions to Ingram's memorable debut below. And he sent the Staples Center crowd into a frenzy with each shot made, even being serenaded with "MVP" chants with the actual MVP front-runner, Rockets guard James Harden, on the same floor. As quickly as we went out as a workers for warmups, I merely felt some electrical power in the marketplace.

Paul, who top-scored with 22 points for the Rockets, spoke to Ingram - the subject of MVP chants from Lakers fans - at the scorers' table during the match. He sunk each of his three free throw attempts, four out of five three-point attempts and six out of eight field goal attempts, all at the ripe age of 32. His 19 points were the most by a Laker in his first career game since Nick Van Exel dropped 23 in 1993.

The Russian Embassy in London said earlier Saturday Yakovenko had sent a "personal note" to Johnson asking for the meeting. And, in the last few days there has been even speculation that Viktoria Skripal is being manipulated by the Kremlin.

"It's been a joy", said Ingram, whose wife and kids were on hand to watch his long-awaited night. "I enjoyed my time in the league and all of my teammates, and I heard from every one of them". From the G League to the Lakers to SportsCenter.

Ingram and his Lakers will wrap up the season this evening against the Clippers before officially beginning the offseason.

"I wondered why those two big guys were back there", Ingram laughed after the surprise announcement as Lakers president Magic Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka walked into the room.
