Easter Monday snow warning for most of Scotland

Easter Monday snow warning for most of Scotland

Easter bunnies in Lincoln are in for a rather wet and chilly Bank Holiday, unless current forecasts change for the better.

"There is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected".

There is still the chance of rain, but this will be interspersed with sunny spells and cloud across large parts of the UK.

"We'll continue to see bands of rain spiralling across the United Kingdom throughout the Easter weekend".

In the gentle to moderate easterly, or south-easterly winds, it will feel cold.

The highs on Sunday will only reach 33 or 34 degrees, he said, with temperatures Monday morning expected to plunge into the mid-20s.

Forecasters also say a narrow band of heavy snow that could drop 5 or more inches is possible across the northern half of Missouri and western portions of IL, but as of Saturday morning, it's too early to pinpoint where that band might be.

Galaxy void of dark matter baffles astronomers
They gravitationally attract ordinary, or baryonic, matter which eventually settles within the extant cloud of dark matter. The "ghost" galaxy, known as NGC1052-DF2, is some 65 million light-years away and about the size of the Milky Way.

The precipitation could start - briefly - as rain across South Jersey and DE on Sunday night, plain old snow, or at the very least a rain/snow mix, is expected for areas along and north of I-195.

About two inches of accumulation is expected in Philadelphia and its suburban counties, with about half that in easternmost South Jersey, and even less at the Jersey Shore, forecasters said.

Monday will be cold, but only compared to the normal high for early April. North Arkansas may warm to the low 40's.

The mercury could plunge to -10C in parts of the United Kingdom overnight as daytime highs remain in the single figures.

Snow is expected to fall to lower levels across Scotland, except on the coasts generally 1 or 2cm, up to 8cm over the Cairngorms.

But, the storms and the cold front cleared Houston before rush hour on Thursday and in its wake a noticeable drop in both temperature and humidity with winds shifting out of the north.

"Then it really gets interesting", Avery said, for Sunday night into Monday morning. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued through midnight Wednesday night for the Rocky Mountain National Park and Rabbit Ears Pass regions for 4-8 inches of accumulation. Hail unfortunately disfigures flowers so where possible cover your most delicate blooms or move container grown plants under cover.
