Copy-Forecast: Light winds and dry weather will prevail through the week

Easter Sunday (Sunrise 6:33 a.m.) expect more clouds late with highs near 68.

A cold front will slowly approach the islands from the northwest this weekend. This will help kick off some showers northeast and across the Northern Mountains with a few high mountain snow showers.

Surf today will be 3-5 feet east, 2-5 feet south, 2-4 feet north, 1-3 feet west. Highs in the upper 70s.

A cold front will be pushing through the Midlands late on Wednesday.

Temperatures will remain around average, primarily in the lower-to-mid 50s.

Earlier this week, the Federal Trade Commission confirmed it is investigating the company's handling of data. The announcements come as Facebook weathers a barrage of unprecedented regulatory scrutiny.

Saturday will see clear skies, throughout the evening as well.

The almost zonal flow aloft remains with us for Easter Sunday promising another fine day with a few more clouds as a weak front dissipates to our north.

Monday night and Tuesday will give us a better chance of precipitation with a mix of rain and snow possible.

Easter Sunday, Mostly sunny and comfortable. South winds will be around 5 miles per hour. Calm wind becoming north northeast 5 to 7 miles per hour in the morning.

Next week will kick off with a warm-up on Monday and a chance for thunderstorms on Tuesday. A partly cloudy sky will stick around for the first half of the day, but clearing conditions are likely by this afternoon. It will be cool for Thursday, but warmer weather is expected for Friday. Afternoon highs may range from the mid 70s in the Golden Triangle to the 60s or 50s near the Tennessee border.
