Nixon, following first speech, is criticized by Democratic Party official

I know that she would be an excellent Governor! Nixon stated she worked with Quinn on the issue of same-sex marriage, but they did not see eye-to-eye on other issues.

In Cuomo's first public remarks since Nixon, an education activist, declared she would challenge him for the Democratic Party's nomination, Cuomo said in Manhattan, "We're in a democracy, anybody can run, anybody can say whatever they want to say".

Nixon announced her bid for governor Monday; she'll run in the Demcratic primary against incumbent Andrew Cuomo.

On the political front, Nixon made it clear where she stands on the Independent Democratic Conference (IDC).

And she revealed the pair have had a history, explaining Sarah Jessica Parker's pal previously opposed her decision to run for Mayor of the city.

Jordan Poole, Michigan stun Houston at the buzzer
They will play Thursday at the Staples Center against the victor of today's game between (2) North Carolina and (7) Texas A & M. Four players are averaging at least 9.8 points per game for Houston, they are Rob Gray (18.5), Corey Davis Jr.

He'd already ordered up endorsements from as much of New York's gay establishment as he could beg, borrow or buy, out of over-the-top fears of winding up on the wrong side of this major identity-politics divide.

"When you look at the polling data in light of the issue choices that Cuomo has made, I question the veracity of whether Cuomo has a problem with the liberal base voters anymore", Gyory said.

Cuomo is running for a third term as governor, having raised more than $30 million for his campaign so far.

The celebrity turned politician did not hold back as she blamed Cuomo for much of what is ailing her hometown NY.

"Cynthia Nixon aggressively opposed my candidacy in NY despite my qualifications for the office and despite my strong progressive credentials". She said that Nixon also will be able to make inroads with voters who oppose the Independent Democratic Conference, a breakaway group of eight Democrats in the state Senate who share power with Senate Republicans.

Quinn later took to Twitter to clarify her criticism of Nixon, stating her sexual "identity" had "no bearing" in regards to her campaign and she did not mean to suggest otherwise. "Being an actress and celebrity doesn't make you qualified for public office". I too want to scream every time I ride the MTA. "Participating in rallies is important. This is a time to move away from celebrity and toward progressive leadership". Show me a compelling reason to cast my vote - and for my teenage daughter to cast her first ever vote - in your direction. "And I'm running for governor because I love this state". Even if she doesn't seriously threaten a Cuomo primary win, she could make things interesting and shift the conversation because the media will nearly certainly be drawn to her.
