Austin Bombed Again as Serial Bomber Sets City on Edge

Preliminary evidence shows that there are similarities between Sunday night's explosion and three other explosions that Austin has suffered in the past month.

The 22 and 23-year-old male victims are in stable condition at a local hospital.

The explosive device yesterday adds to the uncertainty in Austin, which has been on edge since previous bombings killed two people and injured two others, one seriously.

Investigators plan to scan the area for more clues as daylight hits the neighborhood, authorities said.

Thompson is the ranking Democrat on the House Homeland Security Committee, and Jackson Lee leads Democrats on the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security and Investigations. "We are not going to understand that (message) until the suspect or suspects reach out to us to talk to us", Manley said.

The first three attacks used package bombs left on people's doorsteps.

The blast was caused by a tripwire, which Police Chief Brian Manley said demonstrates a "higher level of sophistication" than previous package bombs.

One of Gallagher's friends lives in Travis Country, the neighborhood where the fourth bomb went off Sunday night. Two people were killed in those earlier explosions.

The two victims injured in the most recent blast were both white, but cops have not ruled out the possibility of the attacks being racially motivated.

He said: "We want to put out the message that we've been putting out and that is, not only do not touch any packages or anything that looks like a package, do not even go near it at this time".

The alert regarded a fourth confirmed explosion in the city of Austin in March alone.

Austin police initially thought the explosion on Haverford was an isolated incident. After sunrise, officers were canvasing the area for anything suspicious.

Kiev Violates International Law by Stemming Voting of Russians in Ukraine
The European Union reiterates that it does not recognize and continues to condemn this violation of global law. Russia's diplomatic establishments in Ukraine are located in four cities - Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa and Lviv.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the person or persons involved in the deadly package blasts.

The total now stands at $115,000 (£82,400).

The PGA's Dell Technologies Match Play tournament is scheduled to begin in Austin on Wednesday, and dozens of the world's top golfers are set to begin arriving the day before. "We've definitely seen a change in the method that this suspect or suspects are using". What we have seen now is a significant change from what appeared to be three very targeted attacks to what was, last night, an attack that would have hit any random victim that would have happened to walk by.

The two men who were injured Saturday are in their 20s.

Two cyclists have been injured in an explosion in Austin, Texas, just weeks after two others were killed by parcel bombs in the city.

The first bomb exploded on 2 March, killing Anthony Stephan House, 29, at his home.

But investigators now maintain that they are not ruling out any possible motive. Local police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are still investigating the possibility that all the incidents are connected, but not discarding the idea of a copycat bomb. After telling residents to remain wary of unexpected or suspicious packages, authorities were now urging broader caution.

While the first three bombings all occurred east of Interstate 35, a section of town that tends to be more heavily minority and less affluent, Sunday's was west of the highway.

At a news conference hours after Sunday's blast, Manley repeated his warning for people to not pick up or approach suspicious packages.

Police kept residential streets on lockdown, gradually expanding their barricades and closing off all roads into the neighborhood.

Police closed off the area overnight and mandated residents to stay indoors until Monday morning.
