Confirmed Report: Packers Release Jordy Nelson

The Green Bay Packers appear to be one of the front-runners to sign Pro Bowl tight end Jimmy Graham.

Nelson's 10-year run with the Packers ends as one of the top wide receivers in Green Bay history. Green Bay is releasing Jordy Nelson.

"We can not thank Jordy enough for all that he has given the Green Bay Packers and our community for the past 10 years", Gutekunst said. Teams can not officially sign players until Wednesday, March 14, but a big chunk of high profile free agents have already reached agreements with new teams. "He has been an exemplary professional and teammate and greatly contributed to our success".

Nelson would immediately slot in as Seattle's number two receiving option and would benefit tremendously from having Russell Wilson as his quarterback, as opposed to Brett Hundley who was his primary QB past year in Rodgers' absence.

The Packers are trying to bolster an offense that is beginning to show age on the outside.

I am sure Bill Walton is not pleased, but maybe we will be fortunate enough to hear his rants while he calls some of these games. Wagner made its first NIT appearance in 1979, under the direction of three-time NBA Champion and Wagner Hall of Famer, P.J.

Nelson, set to turn 33 in May, was scheduled to earn $10.25 million in 2018 and carry a salary-cap number of $12.52 million.

The soon to be 33-year-old Nelson had a down year in Green Bay last year, hauling in 53 passes for 482 yards and six touchdowns.

Nelson's release figures to foreshadow more moves for the Packers, who could use an upgrade at tight end. Releasing Nelson may not be a permanent move, however.

He missed the 2015 season with an injury, and his productivity dropped by 44 receptions, almost 800 yards and eight touchdowns a year ago. "He's still a really good player in my eyes".
