How To Turn Google Maps Into Mario Kart

To celebrate, Nintendo has a number of deals lined up including one we told you about the other day. Once it does, you can tap it to turn your navigation arrow into Mario for the remainder of the event. "Then click on the yellow "?" icon at the bottom right corner of your Google Maps app on either Android or iOS. The Japanese game company is now working on "Mario Kart Tour", the first time the series will appear on smartphones.

On its blog, Google jokes, "Just keep in mind to practice safe driving on the road-we don't encourage throwing bananas or red shells at other drivers in real life!" Google Maps confirmed via its official Twitter account that the feature will be available for a full week, so users can activate (or deactivate) "Mario Mode" at any time between now and March 16.
