Although the trade can't be made official until March 14, the Rams are reportedly trading him to the Giants for a fourth- and sixth-round pick.

The Rams have spent this offseason dealing away players that don't fit Wade Phillips' 3-4 defense.

The New York Giants have a new linebacker.

The Rams made the playoffs previous year for the first time since 2004, finishing the regular season at 11-5. He had 95 combined tackles and two sacks in 15 games last season, including a 41-yard pick-six. Devon Kennard and Jonathan Casillas, both of whom were starting linebackers for the Giants in 2017, are scheduled to become free agent later this month.

The Giants had two fourth-round picks in the upcoming draft, including a compensatory selection. Los Angeles will also send back a seventh-round pick. He was one of the leaders on the defense, and was voted as a captain the past two seasons. That room is likely to be used in part to sign AP Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald to a lucrative long-term extension. The deal is worth $42 million, with $33 million coming in the first three years of the deal. He is due a $2 million roster bonus next week.
