In an interview with The Telegraph, Mohammed Bin Salman said that Brexit would potentially free up Britain to do more business with Saudi Arabia. "We have a common interest that goes back to the earliest days of the relationship".

Which explains why Prince Mohammed is going out of his way to stress the importance of the UK-Saudi relationship during this week's visit to Britain.

"We want to fight terrorism, and we want to fight extremism because we need to build stability in the Middle East", he said.

"We are here to implement King Salman issued to help our brothers in IDPs and refugees in North-East, we are here to reach out, and provide assistance for our brothers in that region".

Riyadh has been a crucial financial backer of Sisi, and Saudi Arabia and Egypt have been strengthening their economic ties since he came to power in 2013 after ousting his elected predecessor in a popular-backed coup.
