Jordan Peele's Reaction To Winning An Oscar Is So Relatable

Jordan Peele's Reaction To Winning An Oscar Is So Relatable

In many ways, the show inside the Dolby Theatre went exactly as planned - scripted, tight, full of past-looking montages, forward-thinking speeches and produced to appeal to all. At the process of writing the movie, Peele revealed that he almost stopped working on "Get Out" almost 20 times thinking that it was an impossible film to write and that he also wouldn't have gotten it made even if he had finished it.

"It's very special, and I think that goes for all areas of inclusion", he said. "So I want to dedicate this to all the people who raised my voice and let me make this movie".

Get Out was nominated for four awards overall, including one for best picture. And hopefully those same people are ready for Key and Peele's Gremlins 3.

"WTF?!?" tweeted Jordan Peele after receiving the best original screenplay award for Get Out.

He added, "I am so proud to be at the beginning of a movement where the best films in every genre are being bought by my fellow black directors".

Ryanair plans return to full operations in all Irish airports on Saturday
Our teams have been clearing snow throughout the night and as a result Heathrow's runways are open and fully operational. Glasgow Airport was forced to shut until at least 3pm on Thursday after initially suspending operations until 11am.

Peele made a point to thank those who helped him become an Oscar victor, including those who green-lit his movie and the people who saw it in theaters. You might recall Williams posting a photo on Instagram last spring saying she "fell in love" with Fairhope while filming the movie.

The film marked was a breakthrough moment for British actor Daniel Kaluuya who scored a Best Actor nomination for his role as Chris Washington.

He also made a pun about the movie as he approached the multitude of reporters waiting to interview him.

Peele told The Hollywood Reporter that he wouldn't be against the idea of a Get Out franchise, saying, "I will definitely, seriously consider it". In his escape, he ends up killing most of the family, and starts to strangle his evil girlfriend Rose (Allison Williams), but stops as his pal Rod arrives in a police auto. "It was exactly what I thought he would win for".

While Jordan Peele has won plenty of awards, including a Peabody in 2013 for his work on Key & Peele, this is his first Oscar, and it was for his his directorial debut! Not only that, but several of those voters hadn't even seen the movie, according to an anonymous Academy member.
