Allison Janney on Oscar Win: 'I Did It All by Myself

Despite the length and breadth of her career, Allison Janney's Sunday night Oscar win marked both her first Oscar win and her first Oscar nomination.

Janney began her acceptance speech with a joke: "I did it all by myself".

After a long pause and a laugh, she added: "There is nothing further from the truth".

"Thank you to the Academy".

"I am going right back to work", Janney told International Business Times and other outlets in the press interview room. The star of stage and screen, looking glam in heels and a mauve dress, has just endured a furniture malfunction midway through a photoshoot.

Allison Janney dedicated her Oscars win to her late brother, who took his own life in 2011.

Though she has been in Oscar-winning movies such as "Juno" and "The Help", the attention for those films did not revolve around her.
