National Basketball Association players tweet prayers for Kristaps Porzingis after season-ending injury

The once promising star has a long journey ahead of him to recovery. The Knicks' season is now undoubtedly lost, and the injury will leave Porzingis to prove all over again he's capable of carrying NY out of its years-long doldrums. But Knicks general manager Scott Perry was impressed with Porzingis' approach to this major injury and believes he will more than rise to the challenge facing him. While X-rays came back negative, it's unclear whether he'll undergo further testing in the coming days to ensure he didn't aggravate the earlier injury. Porzingis landed on the foot of fellow All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo and needed help to make it off the court. "It's a tough thing to have happened. He's had such a great year". "It was a tough day for the organization, tough day for the young man". "You think of the young person first. When he learns his ACL's torn and he's out for the season that's tough for any athlete to swallow".

Perry was leery of giving any sort of timetable for Porzingis' return.

"To think seven or eight months is unrealistic", said one medical official who has worked with National Basketball Association players.

Clearly, the Knicks will err on the side of caution when it comes to Porzingis' rehab, which means fans are unlikely to see the Latvian back in game action before 2019. In fact, we're going to declare this jam over Knicks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. the NBA's dunk of the year because the Greek Freak literally jumped over him. "And we'll deal with at that appropriate time". "And that's his message to us".

Porzingis will miss his first All-Star game where he was voted to play on "Team LeBron" alongside LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and others February 18. Porzingis said it was his "dream come true" to make the All-Star team. Then injuries zapped New York's energy, the burden began to wear on Porzingis and the lack of depth resulted in a loss-filled reality check. "It was a bad pass but I was able to get up and go get the ball. I'm ready for it'".

Jamie Dornan seduced by James Corden in hilarious Fifty Shades parody
Dornan stated before that the sex scenes between him and Johnson weren't uncomfortable as the two have a sibling-like bond. While the 35-year-old teases James for being a "nerd", the British comedian clarifies that he's actually a "hobbyist".

"We hadn't talked about that prior to this injury and we won't get into that now about him", Perry said. Obviously, no National Basketball Association team can go out on to a court and not try or put in effort, it's their job, they are getting paid to put in a maximum effort on the court night in and night out. "Our job is to get this team in better position for when he returns to the court so he returns to a group more cohesive, stronger and hopefully a little more talented". It is unclear at this point if that is the definitive plan going forward.

The Knicks also traded disgruntled center Willy Hernangomez on Wednesday to the Charlotte Hornets for two second-round draft picks (2020, 2021) and little-used forward Johnny O'Bryant. The victory moved them within a single game of Boston, the top team in the Eastern Conference, and it came largely because of the play of the second unit.

In addition to decisions about trades, draft picks and Porzingis' extension, Perry and team president Steve Mills will evaluate Hornacek at the end of the season.

Therefore, they should be making some deals. "That's what we'll be looking at moving forward".

Center Enes Kanter (oral surgery) will not be available for Thursday night's game at the Raptors.
