The Surge 2 Announced For PS4, Xbox One & PC, Release Date 2019

The Surge 2 is now announced for a 2019 release and it seems to feature the same sci-fic setting, although further details around it are still unknown at this point. I enjoyed the game, though there was definitely room for improvement. Read it all below. Well, developer Deck13 has another chance to get it right with The Surge 2.

Focus Home Interactive and Deck13 announced The Surge 2 for a 2019 release, a sequel to the first game in the series that hit consoles and PC in 2017.

The Surge 2 plans to keep numerous original features that players enjoyed the most, with hardcore combat, dynamic limb targeting and deep character progression all set to return, but this time the great formula that makes the game what it is, is set to be expanded on further still.

As for specific details about The Surge 2, Deck13 is naturally keeping majority close to the vest for now, but the above announcement post does confirm that the sequel will be set within a massive ruined city and will thus feature larger, more expansive levels.

It also said that it planned to expand on the game's "limb targeting system", which allows players to do damage to discrete locations on an enemy and preserve other weapons and components to later add to their own exoskeleton.

More information about The Surge 2 will be unveiled at Le What's Next de Focus - February 7-8, the yearly press event organized by the French publisher in Paris. Want to see some form of The Surge 2 multiplayer?
