Meet Lucas! He's the First Gerber Baby With Down Syndrome

Lucas Warren is the newest addition to the Gerber family after he won this year's Gerber Baby Photo Contest.

From among thousands of babies, Gerber CEO and president Bill Partyka explained that Lucas was picked thanks to his charming smile and cheerful expression.

As the grand prize victor, Lucas and his family will receive $50,000, which his parents say will be set aside for his education, Fox 5 reports. Over the past 90 years, the company has received "countless" photos from parents who see their own babies in the famous sketch. They entice people by presenting their conception of the ideal home, the flawless body, or the flawless vehicle. Out of more than 140,000 entries, baby Lucas was chosen.

When he's not melting the hearts of everyone he meets, Lucas loves playing peek-a-boo, watching Disney shows, and listening to music, particularly a capella.

Nintendo To Support Nintendo Switch Longer Than Its Traditional Console Life Cycle
When consoles or handheld gaming devices are that old, it's expected to be replaced, as pointed out by Nintendo Enthusiast . Nintendo also said these games will have added online functionality, but what that means exactly remains unclear.

"We hope this opportunity sheds light on the special needs community and educates people that with acceptance and support, individuals with special needs have the opportunity to change the world - just like our Lucas!" she said.

Jason and Cortney hope Lucas can also help out kids like him with his role as spokesbaby.

A one-year-old boy from Georgia is making history as this year's Gerber baby. "He may have Down syndrome, but he's always Lucas first", said Cortney. "Look at everything I did, '" Jason said during an interview with Today. "We'll be here with him every step of the way to do it", Cortney adds.
