Rahul Dravid unhappy with BCCI over cash reward

Dravid, in an exclusive interview with ESPNCricinfo, revealed the vital information shared in the dressing room, giving ample space to young cricketers and how satisfied he is to see a proper "process" being fulfilled in the run-up to the coveted trophy.

"It's human nature, after all", quipped Dravid, seated alongside captain Prithvi Shaw after returning home with the Under-19 World Cup. Compared to that, India's opponents in the final of that tournament, Australia, saw five-six boys taking the leap to the senior side. "I would only like to thank everyone, including the BCCI and the selectors for not just entrusting me with this responsibility", he concluded. "Only those three days I was a bit anxious", recalled Dravid, on the boys' curiosity-level about the IPL auctions.

"We never treated the Pakistan game differently". In the U-19 level you have to intervene a little more because they expect that from you. "This is also a learning for them as to figuring out what gets them going on match day", opined the 45-year-old. Be it U-19 or any other age group, we have tournaments and guidance in place to groom talented youngsters. The boys knew that more people watch these games and it was a good experience for them. Within the boundaries, we have been flexible and we try and give the onus and responsibility to them.

"The challenge and the hard work really start from here". Even if they have a couple of tough years and fail, they'll be better off playing there. They need to take it forward from there. "Credit goes to them completely". "The Wall" as he is popularly called, credited the backroom and National Cricket Academy staff, who spent considerable amount of time with the colts.

India U-19 cricket team shaped an extraordinary performance in the final of ICC U-19 World Cup against Australia. They handled pressure very well. We can celebrate the victory politely also.
