MARVEL Hires Writer for BLACK WIDOW Film

According to the publication, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige actually interviewed a number of potential candidates to work on the script of the Black Widow before ultimately choosing Schaeffer.

It also claim that some of Marvel's execs have met up with Johansson to discuss what they would want from a writer for the movie.

It looks like our Black Widow-related dreams are finally coming true. Securing a writer is a seriously promising step regardless, since it's the most that Marvel has ever done in terms of pushing a solo film forward.

The US is seeking to work with other regional players and China would be one of the main ones to deal with this issue. And the second issue is that China is also concerned about terrorism and extremism in South Asia", the official said.

The lack of a Black Widow movie has become such a running joke over the years that even Scarlett Johansson, Black Widow herself, had to make fun of her disparate lack of representation in toys and spin-offs on Saturday Night Live last year. Marvel hasn't commented on the news.

Scarlette Johansson has appeared as Black Widow in six films of the franchise and will be soon seen in the upcoming films "Avengers: Infinity War" and its second part.

"Of the characters [in Captain America: Civil War] I would say certainly the one creatively and emotionally that we are most committing to doing is Black Widow", Feige told Deadline at the time. Additionally, Schaeffer wrote, directed, and produced the 2009 movie TiMER as he theatrical debut. "We think she's an fantastic character". Featuring the story of an alien invasion happening during a baby shower, the script got the attention of Anne Hathaway who has attached herself to star in the movie. We think Scarlett Johansson's portrayal of her is incredible. But in a different turn of events, another female superhero movie - Captain Marvel (2019) - got the green light.
