Sea of Thieves Beta Will Close Out January

Today Microsoft announced via press release that the closed beta of Rare's shared world adventure game Sea of Thieves is coming on January 24th.

The beta will not be covered by an NDA, which means all content in the Closed Beta can be streamed, captured, clipped or screenshot. All that and we hosted our biggest ever Technical Alpha play session last month. The game's long-running NDA covered technical alpha came to an end past year with a massive week-long test session, but for anyone who's yet to try the game out, there are more opportunities materializing, as the developer announced today that a closed beta will commence later this month.

Anyone who pre-ordered the game and all of those who joined the Insider Programme by December 1st, 2017 will have automatic access to the beta testing. Those who pre-ordered the game are also a shoe-in.

Iran's unrest could hurt clerics, but Rouhani has most to lose
The past week's protests have been the largest in Iran since the disputed 2009 presidential election , which ended in bloodshed. However, Rouhani said that the aim of these protests should be to improve the situation in the country and people's lives.

The Sea of Thieves Open Beta will run from January 24 to January 29 giving players ample time with the game. In both cases, you'll still need to download and install the beta before you can participate.

The closed beta will be a "bespoke" experience according to Rare and it will give players a taste of the pirate action ahead of the launch.

Sea of Thieves launches on Xbox One and Windows 10 on March 20, 2018 and is an Xbox Pay Anywhere title.
