Roy Moore accuser Leigh Corfman sues Moore for defamation

One of the women who accused Roy Moore of engaging in sexual misconduct decades ago is suing the defeated Alabama Senate candidate and his campaign for defamation.

When the wife of former Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore declared last month, "one of our attorneys is a Jew", she was swiftly criticized for what many deemed an insensitive effort to combat allegations that she and her husband did not like Jewish people. Multiple women who accused Bill Cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting them pursued this legal strategy, and the case is still in litigation in a MA court.

The lawsuit then goes on to list more than half-a-dozen more instances of Moore denying the allegations and claiming Corfman's claims were politically motivated. Corfman said he took off her shirt and trousers and removed his clothes except for his underwear before touching her over her bra and underpants. It also identified five individuals in Moore's campaign who "have repeated Mr. Moore's false denials". Jones was sworn in as a senator on Wednesday.

Moore repeatedly tried to discredit Corfman, and the other women, throughout the campaign.

"These allegations are completely false and misleading", Moore told Sean Hannity after the report dropped. "Judge hired him while Chief Justice, then I hired him at the Foundation", she added, referring to the Foundation for Moral Law, which was founded by Roy and Kayla Moore.

Khloe added: "Then for a girl, I don't know where to begin". "He was out of the country and we wanted to tell everyone together". However, she did share that the initial of a female baby would be a "K" or a "T" after the child's parents.

In a Thursday statement provided to, Corfman said, "The decision to sue Mr. Moore and his campaign committee was hard, but they need to be held responsible for their actions". "I believe they are brought only to stop a very successful campaign, and that's what they're doing".

On the second visit to the house, Mr. Moore sexually abused Ms. Corfman. And I tell you all this because I've seen it all, so I just want to set the record straight while they're here. "By this lawsuit, I seek to do what I could not do as a 14-year-old - hold Mr. Moore and those who enable him accountable".

Corfman's suit asks the court to force Moore to " retract all defamatory statements made against Ms. Corfman, to publicly apologize for these defamatory statements, and to refrain from making further defamatory statements".

Corfman isn't seeking compensation aside from legal costs.
