Plane with 12 believed aboard crashes in Costa Rica

- Costa Rican authorities say 12 people are dead in a plane crash and 10 of the passengers were USA citizens.

The single-engine turboprop's two Costa Rican pilots also died in the crash, President Luis Guillermo Solis Rivera said in a statement posted on social media.

"The government vows to do everything necessary to help the victims' family members in whatever they need in this hard moment and sends them the solidarity of all the Costa Rican people", Solis said.

Cubillo said the cause was under investigation. "I looked at my husband and said, 'You need to go, ' and right at that time two other gentlemen were running up the road, so my husband just ran with them, and they just started right toward the wreckage".

Authorities said although they have the names of the passengers form flight manifest, they are waiting to officially confirm the identities of the victims, The Associated Press reported.
