Winter Weather Advisory issued for Christmas Eve across southeast MI

We haven't had 2"+ of snow between Christmas Eve & Christmas Day since 2003 (14 years)".

Bridges and overpasses were slick in spots but the recent warm weather limited the affects on road surfaces.

A National Weather Service advisory in effect until 6 p.m. says there could be winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts of up to 55 miles per hour.

Rain showers with some freezing rain and sleet mixing in at times, then colder air will begin to push into WNY for the afternoon quickly changing over to snow into the evening on Saturday. Tree branches could fall as well.

The star of the bunch is likely the 34WK95U, a 34-inch ultrawide monitor with a (roughly) 21:9 aspect ratio and a 5K resolution. Joining that new monster display will be a more typical entry in the range, a new 32-inch 4K monitor known as the 32UK950.

In addition, a wind advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze are expected. He noted that a lake effect storm system will bring heavy snow, gusty winds and dropping temperatures in those areas.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo advised drivers upstate - particularly in the Western New York, the Finger Lakes, Central New York, North Country and the Capital Region - to plan ahead and use caution due to the weather.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means periods of snow and blowing snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Scattered power outages are expected.
